Thanks a lot man, I already got a quote for the linex, I just have to find out how much fixing the rust is gonna cost me and then I'm going for it as long as the rust doesn't cost too much to fix.

Well after getting a 2,125 dollar quote to get the rust fixed on my rocker panels and cab corners, I have decided to hold off on the rust proofing and line-x. I have researched it and I think I can do it myself with the help of a decent welder, but I'm going to wait until next spring to do it. So instead I ordered myself a WARN V8000 winch and two magnaflow high-flow cats and I'm going to get my exhaust work done and try putting on this winch when it gets here next week.

Hey guys, I know it's been forever since I've posted any updates... I've been incredibly busy with school and work and sports. I've still been doing a bunch of work with the truck and it's come a long quite a ways, I'm gonna try getting everybody up to speed.. here goes!

First came the warn vr8000 winch for the front bumper. This was super easy to put on and filled the giant hole in the front end of the bumper, it looks sweet!

After that came the double DIN radio installation. I went with the Pioneer AVH-X4700BS. The install wasn't too bad, just took a lot of trimming and a fair amount of time. Looks super good and I installed the parking brake bypass so I can watch movies on long trips:

During hunting season I got stuck in a ditch and realized the reason was because my 4wd wasn't working... After doing some research into all the vacuum hose problems and whatnot I decided to buy a 4x4 Posi-Lok. Wasn't too much money, super easy to install, and I've had 4wd ever since!

After that I went on a bit of a hiatus due to moving and being busy hunting, but I kept slowly working on the exhaust system, which was an absolute nightmare. I wanted to save a ton of money doing the system myself, but it caused a bunch of headaches. Finally got it finished, it's dumping down about where the bed starts, and has a magnaflow high flow cat on each side. Sounds good, and I really like the no exhaust pipe out the back look. I have used the spark plug non foulers to remove the check engine light but it still hasn't worked, so I'm still trying to get rid of my CEL from the exhaust system.

After I finished moving I decided to tackle the lift kit. I bought the Rough Country 5 inch suspension lift, and decided to do it myself. This took a long time, but honestly wasn't all that hard. I was blessed with not having any seized bolts or anything rusted together. While I had the whole front end apart I went ahead and got new cv axles, wheel hub assemblies, brakes, and rotors. This lift kit seems to be doing well, I've had it on for about a month now with no issues. Looks sweet, only problem is it makes my tires look tiny, so now I'm saving up for a gear swap and 37's.

Next I put on a shorty antenna, found a cool black and red ford sticker to cover up the blue and white sticker on the tailgate, and bought a 6 pack of rustoleum spray on bedliner and went to town. Sprayed the rear bumper, rocker panels, emblems, and the top pieces that are on the sides of the truck bed. This bedliner stuff is awesome and I'm going to keep painting some more stuff with it, just a few odds and ends left to paint on the truck, like I totally forgot about the tailgate emblem. Oh also I got what I believe are the 2008 version of the 4x4 stickers. And I pulled off the door trim accent panels things on the side of the doors, looks way better without them, but it was a pain to get the glue off.

Please forgive how dirty my truck is, while doing all of these things I was literally in the middle of hauling trailer loads of stuff from my old house to my new house.

I think that pretty much sums everything up and gets everybody up to speed. Right now I'm just saving up for the regearing and 37's and then my truck is pretty much finished! Here are some more pics, finally got the truck clean!

The first two pictures are just random ones with my cousin's truck from a while back, the last ones are my most recent pictures and how the truck sits as of tonight!

Well my 37x13.5x17 Toyo Open Country MT's are in the mail and I'm making an appointment for the regearing tomorrow. Can't wait, I love the Toyo MT's and have been waiting forever to get a new pair on my truck.

I called the shipping company and my tires are going to be here Monday, so I have an appointment to get them mounted on Monday and an appointment to get my truck regeared on Wednesday. Should have everything done by next weekend!

Got my tires put on! Everything looks great, huge improvement on the looks of my truck. Makes my truck look awesome! Regearing happens tomorrow, but really my trucks didn't feel any slower when I drove it around. The back two rub a little bit, but the front ones don't, which is surprising. Here's some pics:

Here's a picture I took with all my vehicles together

Have a thing for red I see. Very nice, the new tires really do the trick! Have you changed gear ratios yet?

Lol yeah, my favorite colors are red and black.. but the bike came first, then came the truck, so when I was looking at getting a Trans Am I figured I'd just keep with the trend.

Thank you! I totally agree, I thought my truck looked cool before, now it's just awesome, it was definitely missing something before the tires. And I drove it up to Dubuque today and dropped it off at the shop doing the gear change. Should have it back Friday, I'm interested to see how big of a difference it makes.
