Size: 45.0 KBWell, I thought I might as well go ahead and start a build thread. I bought my truck very used and rusty last month, October of 2014. It has rocker rust and bed rail rust. It has very high mileage, but that don't bother me, because I was just looking for a project for the winter months. I drove it at the dealership, for only about 3 miles, so I know it needs front end work also. They delivered it to me, that way I didn't need to plate it, since it is coming apart right away. I only have a couple pics of it before tearing down, because it went about that fast! So for other plans, replace radiator support, radio with pioneer double din, front seat leather, headlights, taillights, repair door rust, or replace. I think for now that is good. The outside pics show the factory running boards, and I removed them before I took any pics in the garage.

Default bed off and derusting

Took the bed off to get to rear cab corners, and repair rails under bed. This is shot of back with most rust removed, and sprayed with the por 15 prep.

Default started work on radiator support

What do they call this piece? Is it one piece, it looks like it, and broke like it, but thought maybe it comes apart. It connects the frame to the core support, on the bottom side.

Default stereo

Well, family left after thanksgiving dinner, and wife and kids went black thursday/friday shopping, so I went to garage. Tired of cutting rust out, I decide to do something fun. Pioneer double din install. I already have two of these in my other cars, so I am familiar with install. I already had the radio, pioneer avic -x710bt, the wiring kit, not sure of the part number, and the trim kit, Xscorpion FM-K9510DD. I had already connected the wiring to the adapter, and all extra wiring came with this when I bought it, gps antenna, ipod adapter. It is no way close to fitting, without cutting. I cut only on the top, and sanded the sides a little bit. the second picture shows how far it goes in without cutting the top. Third pic shows the inside without cutting. Fouth pic shows the inside top piece cut. Fourth pic shows the preliminary fitting of the stereo. The fifth pic shows everything back together. 6th pic shows it running, the fit turned out real well.

Default stereo running

Ok, here are some pics of stereo running. It is hooked up to a 80gb ipod classic. I really like these radios, seeiing I have 3 of them installed now. I got this one for $150 on Ebay with all accessories included. Like $20 extra for wiring adapter, and faceplate. Next up for this will be the 10" subwoofer pair under back seat, and upgraded speakers for all the doors, before they go back on. I didn't even get dirty doing this!
