03 super crew overland build
I have been searching for a way lately to get my wife out of the house and enjoy the outside. she likes to run but doesnt much like adventure I aim to change that.
so with that said I intend to build a truck I can use for hunting and also take the family camping/off roading.
The truck is an 03 supercrew xlt. when I bought the truck the upgrades were:
a level kit
33" mud tires
relocated air intake
my intended upgrades are:
winch
skid plates
bumpers
tonneau cover
roof rac/basket
35" tires
possibly a canopy
air compressor
evolution cs programmer
electrical upgrades to include:
bed running lights
rear flood bar
left and right side spot lights and floods
front flood bar
front pencil lights
secondary battery
battery isolator
inverter
All of the electrical to be put in a battery box under the rear seat run through switches and relays or fuses when applicable.
I plan on mounting the lights (except the bed lights and the pencil lights) on the roof rack and using a trailer adapter plug in order to have the basket removable and not have extra wires or have to pull wires every time in order to put the lights back.

Its coming slowly but I got the diff breather relocator mounted. Gotta run the tubing still. Broke a nerf bar mount yesterday, but I think I found some rock sliders for it.

Although taking some time it looks like you're moving in the right direction! What rock sliders are you looking at?

The ones I thought I found wont actually work as it turns out, so:
I am really trying to get ahold of a company locally and get them to make me some. but they arent being very responsive. even if they are as much as 100 dollars more i could come out cheaper because of shipping.
Then I was looking at a pair of unlimited chasis but they only make them up to 96" which would leave me about 6" unprotected. I would have to decide where to leave how much gap on each end.
And I spoke with a company called stubbs welding that does customs. he said they could do them but he would need more info and he was on vacation till wednesday. He just happened to catch my email while setting up his auto response so he went ahead and responded. So gotta wait to hear more from him.
Edit: as I was typing this the local shop messaged me back. so we will see how that plays out.

there are not a ton of roof racks out specifically but I think I have decided to go with a bed/ladder rack and maybe do some mods to make it what I want it. The only roof racks are gonna be universal and require drilling. While I dont mind drilling, I dont want to drill the roof. But good luck I hope you find one you like.
