Are you guys tapping into the center trailer reverse harness wire for the lights to come on in rev? I've read it thinks there is a trailer attached if you do tie into it. I haven't found any legit reverse wire colors or locations to splice into on a 2016.

I spliced the reverse wire, have not noticed any trailer sensing on the dash when in use on my 16 xlt

it is connected at trailer harness.... It has a disconnect for easy access... I believe it was the center wire but would have to look... had a meter on it while the kid put it in reverse. The ground is easy, right near the hitch wiring. I just used a crimp splice and ran the wires into the tail light to make the connections to the cab...stay nice and dry that way.

the above quote says the 85 pin is FROM the trucks OEM reverse light lead. (not from the light itsself).

and the 87a pin is FROM the switch in the cab, both i will assume are used to activate the auxillery lights.

with that being said, why does the switch in the cab have to be a SPDT switch?
can it be a simple on/off switch (SPST?)
if the cab switch is a SPST switch (on/off), when its in the "OFF" position the 85 pin will activate the aux lights? why have a SPDT switch...sorry, i confuse myself......
Trying to find reverse lead in wire chase under door sills. Does anyone know where to find this? I have the relay installed behind the back seats for protection and would like to not run another wire all the way back to the trailer hook up.
