So, I recommended this upgrade on another thread dealing with the 2015 ecoboost, particularly to solve an Auto Start stop issue where the auto start would not engage because it was charging the battery, and another member said that doing this upgrade was a "really bad idea" and to go read about the battery saver function. His only response when I asked further was "did you read the info?" for which I haven't been able find anything since...which is why I asked further (duuuh). Any one know anything about the Battery Saver system and why this is supposedly a "really bad idea" for the Ecoboost?

I've got 2440 watts of amps ordered. I figured I'd need to do the big 3 and an alt upgrade. I ordered a 370 amp alt from Excessive Amperage and am glad I found this because my inexperienced *** couldn't find where all the cables were.

Be SURE of Your Needs
Are you sure you "need" a larger alt? While it may sound manly to say you have 2440 watts of amps on order, it states nothing about actual power (rms/if lightning strikes) or the amount of total draw as determined to actually need an aftermarket alt. Hey, if you do you do, but I would always do the other stuff 1st! Big 3 is always at the top of the electrical upgrade path...before adding amps and def before a new battery or alt.

Use Forscan to disable BSM and the issues will go away.....When running new charge wire from alt to battery you MUST install an inline fuse. This fuse protects the vehicle in the event the alt loses the voltage regulator etc....in a perfect scenario when doing this upgrade, you do NOT remove the factory power wire, rather piggy back it with the new larger cable, both ground and power. LEAVE the factory wiring in lace. Electrons flow thru the path of least resistance so leaving them attached will hurt nothing.

I cant say with 100% accuracy since I have a 3.5 eco,but the theory is the same. The feature will still function however, the alt and battery will "talk" to each other battery to ensure better, full charging of the battery. I dont see the real purpose to BSM as all id does is turn off accessory power when the drain has reached a predetermined discharge so that the truck has enough battery power to still start.
