Squeak in seat fix
#11
Does this fix also refer/work to the squeak in the passenger seat while driving? My passenger seat has been doing it since a few months after I bought my truck and I have always wanted to get it fixed.
It normally happens after slight bumps in the road or anything that causes the seat to "jiggle" just a little bit.
Thanks in advance for your time and useful post!

My seats only squeaked real bad getting in and out of the truck, not to say this isn't the cause of yours while driving. The only way to check is to pry those two pieces of metal apart.

Squeaky seat driven me crazy!!!
HELP!!! I have a 2013 Ford F-150 STX I bought used about 6 months ago. There has been an extremely annoying squesk coming from the driver seat. I have taken it in to Ford 3 times and get the same canned response "we cannot recreate issue". I sprayed lubricant and this worked for awhile a few different times but now oil does not work. The noise is coming from the back park of the seat because if I sit up away from the back the squeak stops. I removed the lumbar support and still happens. Does anyone know a fix for this because it is driving me crazy.

Well I couldn't take the squeak in my drivers side seat any more. This is the one when you get in and out of the truck and something in the bottom cushion squeaks. I did an online search for the fix and didn't find a good solution. I spent some time looking for the origin of the squeak and thought I would share what fixed my seats.
I fixed both sides, driver and passenger seats, so some of the pictures are mixed from either side.
Here is the fix:
First remove the lumbar adjustment ****, this is the most difficult part of the job. I was sure it was going to break but according to an online 'how to' Google, this was how it came off. The **** is to be pryed off, there are no fasteners holding it on. The **** popped off without breaking.
Next you will need to remove the retaining clip holding the reclining lever on. Do this by pulling staight up on the clip with some form of hook type tool.
After the **** and lever are removed you can remove the first panel by popping it out, starting from the rear. The front of the panel has a tab that coud break on the front of it if you tryed from that end first.
Next remove the inner panel. Three screws hold it on. The rear of the panel pops out.
Now lift up on the fabric and you will see two seperate sections of metal that are touching each other, this is where the squeak originates from.
Get a prybar and pry those two sections of metal apart from each other a little bit.
Put it all back together. And now you won't get irritated each time you get in and out of the truck.
