About how long did this take you?! My girlfriend hates leather and I got an 06 lariat with all leather and she wants heated seats. Haha. I wouldn't mind it either!

It took me a long time. Too long in my opinion, but the older I get the slower I go. I put in about six hours one day and about four the second day, ROUGHLY.

I've read another thread somewhere here that the installer had a time limit to be out of his relatives garage. I think he installed everything in less than six hours.

The project was fun and well worth the effort and money spent.

How are you liking these heaters? I was looking at these to install in my 2013 Screw. I like these in particular as I want to install the switches in the seat trim and am afraid that the passenger seat will accidentally get left on and I won't notice. At least with these ones, once I turn the truck off, these turn off and don't come back on until you hit the switch again (provided I tap into an ignition controlled circuit.)
Thanks!

Sorry for the delayed reply.

I am enjoying the seat heaters very much. It does seem to me that they take a few minutes to get warmed up. I guess about two miles. Once they get to working on HIGH, I have to turn them down to the low setting.

The wife is also very happy with them other than the seemingly slow heat-up time.

Best of luck,
Jim

Apologies for resurrecting an old thread, but this is exactly what I’ve been looking for,
My first post here but I’ve reading a ton since getting my ‘17 XLT in early November.
Hopefully the OP Stickman81 and Gener8s are still forum members. Thanks for the write up Stickman81!
For my rear seats, I’ve been considering a heated seat kit with these exact switches.

In the 2nd last post from Gener8s, it was mentioned that the switches in this thread (if left on and once the engine is turned off) will not turn back on until the switch is pressed again after restarting the engine. Essentially a ‘momentary’ style. It wasn’t really confirmed in this thread.

Most kits contain a ‘rocker’ style switch that (in the ON position) will be on automatically once the engine is restarted.

Can anyone confirm (Stickman81 and Gener8s or others) if these switches work the way I have described ie momentary type - they stay off after engine is off and restarted.

Thanks and great forum!

Again resurrecting an old thread. I bought a replacement bezel to replace one that had the woodgrain finish damaged by one of those clip on air fresheners with liquid. (don't use those) The used bezel had the control screen for the heat/ac and the lighter, etc. It was different slightly as it has heated seats buttons where my old one did not. It does connect in the same way harness wise. I have a 2006 Lariat SuperCrew with tan leather trim. I would like to add heaters to the seats and I wonder if the wiring just needs a relay and some factory heaters. Anyone have any answers? I will post some pics of what I have and the wiring behind. Cheers! (The bezel pictured shows it was made in 2005)

Again reviving an old thread. Just wanted to thank the original poster for taking the time to do this. I just completed this project tonight on my 04 Screw Lariat. My kit contained the High/Lower rocker switch and was not backlit. Only status light when toggled.
Similar to this: Heated Seat Kit
I had previously used a similar Ebay kit in my WRX around 7 years ago but with rectangle buttons and haven't had one issue. For this setup I tied the power and ground for both seat kits together and connected them to the ground and power on my radio wiring harness (Sony AX3200 w/ Crutchfield pre-wired harness) . I have tested both seats on high with my phone connected to USB and charging while playing radio. No issues with radio or seat turning off. Drove 20-30min like this without issue. I just wanted to throw this update out there in case anyone was looking for a keyed power source for a similar project. Sorry I don't have more pics of the install or wiring.
