Default How to remove door panels, speakers and replace Door handles

I was finally able to Scan these instructions in my computer. These came with the replacement handle I bought from Putco. The chrome peeled within the first month after install so I am not recommending these.

BTW, if your truck doesn't have a key pad on the drivers door but you do have power window/locks it's a good possibility that the plug for it is in the door waiting for you to plug it in. Pull the panel and take a look. If you find the plug then it should work, just buy a new handle with the keyless pad and plug it in. All you will need to do then is find the keyless code. see THIS THREAD for more help on that.

The keypad will not work if you do not have a keypad already. The module that contols that function has a different part number than the one for a truck with out that option.

There have been several members among all the forums I'm a member of that have already done this mod and it worked for them. The module has the keypad code on it for the truck. Those who want to do it should confirm the code and the plug in the panel first. The module may indeed have a different part number between the two but those that have done it used the code that's on it and it worked.

It will not work on an 07 though. The 07 has different modules.

Ok, maybe Ford realized what some of us are doing and made a change so you would have to buy it as an option with the purchase new.

Just so everyone that wants to attempt this is clear on the 07 model. Did your truck have the plug in the door panel was the code on the module and does your truck have Power windows/locks, all of this and is still didn't work?

Edit: What model do you have?

I run the TascaFordParts.com website. I work in the parts department. I had a customer that was looking into this at one point.

Do you know if the person that attempted this had all the stuff I was asking about? I wonder, only because this is the first I've read about it not working.

To my knowledge he never pursued it any further. The handle will fit fine and I believe the plug is in there. You may have to double check. It may work fine it could just be Ford's decription of the parts. They are not that great at cataloging their parts. They list the modules as with or with out door entry remote control unit. It could just be the wording. Worst case scenario the module is $92.00

How do they list them for the 04-06 model years?
