I wanted to change my dome light to an LED on my 2009 F150. I had no problem removing the dome light cover. My problem was getting it to stay back on. I spent a hour searching the internet for instructions on how to remove/put on the dome light with no luck, so I decided to post a How To.

You have to remove the whole dome light assembly from the inside roof of the truck. There are two tabs on the back side opening. Push back on these tabs and the back of the assembly will come out. Then all you have to do is pull the assembly backwards. There is a long tongue on the front side of the assembly.

I took my interior light cover off to clean it ( although it turned out not to be dirty ) and couldn't get it back on so it sat in the carhold for almost a year before I built up the courage/patience to try to put it back on again. I manhandled it before managing to finally get into place in one piece. I wish I would have checked back in to this forum as it would have saved me a few beer and a lot of cursing. Hey Zane , thanks for the info on putting that dome light cover back on
you saved me a lot of aggravation .I also got it off easy but to put it back
on was baffling me ....thanks again ,you are an angel.....Randy
