This photo is EXACTLY what I needed!! It showed me where to apply pressure to get the cup holder out and how to position the spring when I screwed it back on. Thanks

Talking Broken cupholder

Good information for a newbie, mines been broken for a couple of years. Now if I can just find how to adjust the F150 headlights w/o shelling out $26 for a shop manual.

I'm not understanding exactly how to get the cupholder out?? I can get the cupholder to open so I can use it but it won't allow me to remove it completely. What's the trick to getting it to release from the rails??

what I did was get it to that position an kind of wiggle it side to side out. don't shake it to much or you will brake the rail or something else, once you get it to a certain point it'll just come out to the side. but I believe there are a clip or something like that to push in on each side on the very back of the cup holder the prevents it from coming out all the way. push those in an it should come out. I'm not 100% theres a clip though might be wrong

I have a 2000 F150 XLT Supercab 4x4 and the key to getting it out was to press the 2 clips on the top and pull out to release. Once I got a flashlight in there to look at it, I could easily the 2 clips on the top and it was a piece of cake. Took me longer to find 2 replacements screws than it did to do the entire fix.

Man, its nice have a working cup holder now. It's amazing how the little things really make you happy.

I got mine fixed last weekend just used super glue. I just realized I did not put the light back in. I give everyone in my truck strict orders to not touch it. I tell them it is for looks only and to use the console cup holder instead.

It won't hurt it to use it. I did this to mine but used screws like 2 years ago, I use it all the time
