Thanks for your posting, I,m sure any body who has not yet tried to remove it will be greatfull. I changed my 05 from cloth to leather and after 45 min and using every word in the book and around 95 degrees out side in the shade I figured it out .
Again GREAT JOB!!

Thumbs up

WOW Thanks for the instructions way better than others I have found, I spent 2 hours today trying to get it off, got pissed and cut up lol, then I went back to the internet and found this method, and had the seat off in 15 minutes.

Thanks again, you are my new hero...

If you haven't seen it, katskin leather has a video showing a guy removing the entire interior, elapsed time is like 30 minutes, that includes front seats and center console

my biggest gripe when i did this is that, you end up fighting with the seat. i spent sixty minutes fighting with putting screw driver in wrong hole then realized i had to push it up higher to hit the tab at the back and after that it was a fifteen minute lesson...time after that was five...

I am glad I just found this thread. I was trying to get my gorilla hands behind the seat for about an hour without any luck. That method may work for people with little hands but definately not myself. I had the whole seat back out in about two minutes after reading this. So thanks again for this writeup. Made it worth saving 100 bucks my local dealer wanted to give me the keypad code. Funny thing is that the code is atm pin # plus one more number. So I have less of a chance to forget it.

tip... ziptie the plastic catches open and leave them open that way. I mounted 2 amps on the back wall and just lv the catches zip tied. This makes future access a snap and its secure enough for safety because the middle seatbelt holds the backrest in place
