Finally fixed it thanks for the excellent write up. Had the bulb out for like 7 months.

my bulbs been out since i bought the truck almost 2 years ago...think this is a job ill have to tackle this summer....

ya i always heard it was a pain in the @$$ so i just left it alone until i stumbled onto this...the dealership told me it would be at least $100 fix so i said forget it...but now that i no its this ill have to go back to the dealer for a bulb!

Dealer tried to tell me i needed a new cluster. I just bought the bulb at a local auto parts store.

ya i should look into the auto stores here to now that you mention it....dealer here is a rip off the less business i give them the better lol

Do it! It's a piece of cake. I ordered the bulbs from amazon, then found them in Walmart. Shocked they carried such a tiny little bulb.

Just did this fix, very easy. Dash cover takes a little bit off force for the clips to come out. Took about 20-30 mins in total. Now I can see the odometer at night.

Isn't this a great fix. I drove for almost a year thinking it was an expensive led. I never imagined it is replacable bulb that lights that up.
