Mine came out better than i thought they would just used pb plaster waited. Cracked em 1/4 turn the closed them.and repeded this process a couple times then started backing them out. Abd every once and a while tighten it back a little then continue backing them out.
I fount the spark plug socket at orileys for $4.
now my sputtering /backfiring problem is solved when i put the petal to the metal.

Job Well Done:
It shows a tyro contemplating the same job a way to avoid pitfalls common to the task....
I thank God that the former owner of my '97 XLT 4.6L had changed the plugs a few K miles before I bought the truck.
Every time a come across a maintenance article such as this excellent presentation I dream about having my Chevy 6.2L diesel back.

Well Patrick I couldn't wait till this weekend so I started a little early. After work today I went at it and just done one at a time because I knew I wouldn't have time to do them all before it got dark. So the first one I cracked open put a lil pb blast and carb cleaner let it set for about 2 min because I didn't wanna wait around lol (I'm impatient) and the first came NOOO PROBLEM YAAAAAY!!! So the second done same thing again no problem, then the third again no problem so I was like man this is easy wonder if I even need the blaster and cleaner??? So the next one I went at and didn't put anything in it......WEEEELLL that one came out easier than the other ones???? Hmmmm ain't that weird???? But after that one it was dark so I stopped for the night and will finish tomorrow and I pray it goes just as smooth as the first 4. Man this was a lot easier than I was expecting. I done the drivers side tonight because I knew the passenger would take longer so I'll do it tomorrow when I get off because I only had an hour tonight to work at it tomorrow I'll have longer. Thanks for everything patrick and I really hope I don't need the tool but glade I got it just incase. Thanks again for this great write up and got me ready for everything. And sorry to jack it and post so long.
