Had the exact same problem. They were the "fat" kind, like our dome lights use (but shorter). I ended up using 6-SMD 921 types, and just soldered the suckers in there. Sealed with gorilla glue. I went with blue instead of white (like I've done everywhere else - domes, maps, cargo, license plate, reverse). I wanted something different, but now I'm thinking I should have gone all white. I don't feel like cutting them apart again, so I'll probably just leave it until someone makes a plug and play part for this. (I've seen the $70 plus you send your stock puddles version.... no thanks, I want it designed, like jury rigged like I already did. : )

I have a set of these light from http://www.daytimebrightlites.com/ that I have replaced.
They were only installed for a few weeks and everything works great. I started replacing all of my bulbs with leds from V-LEDs and the color was a little off, so I decided I would build a set of my own. Let me know if there is any interest. PM me an offer.

i updated my puddle lights from the 4 LED to the 360* 24 LED festoon bulb. I wanted to use the reflector to spread more light. before it was not using the reflector, the ones i got are 170 lumens vs 70 lumens with the one i got from superbrightleds.com.
old 4 LED vs new 24 LED 360* bulb. much brighter!
