A buddy of mine used candy paint to smoke his tail lights on his explorer. It came out great but I don't know exactly how he did it. Just thought of something different to try!

When I first looked at the title to this thread my befuddled brain at first translated it as smoking his tail lights?! What does he do put them in his blender and grind them up so he can put them in his pipe......Sorry
And all of you please have a Merry Christmas!!!!!

I tryed a few different kinds of paint, I used that vht nightshade stuff, but everytime i used it i had a weird cracking look to the paint, i'm not sure what went wrong there, but i really just used krylon black paint for plastic, i realized that the whole star thing was gay, after wasting a pair of projector headlights that i blacked out with the whole star thing.
but i just sanded off all the paint, and went for the total blacked out look, minus the reverse light. you just have to go a little light with the paint, and let them sit out a while, then clear the hell out of them and then buff them for a few minutes.
and i have to re-do them again, because some great friend of mine carved my initials into my taillights with his key.
Aren't friends great, lol

I just did mine with VHT. did a "fade" on mine going darker as the light curves around the truck (07xl). Came out really nice. Buffed them too... might add more clear coat though....
