Id pobably coat it with a gloss to give it a nice clean look.
Im not a fan of the flat black.

can i do the whole front of my truck from chrome to black the same way ?

Default dechrome
If you want to black out the chrome,try some stuff called Chrome. Its a chrome tint. The more coat you use the blacker it gets.
