Agree with both of you.

No mass produced vehicle is ever correct in all ways when released, and to make changes AFTER production begins is a huge cost and disruption. Our diesel Jetta we bought new in 2004 and have 230,000 miles on it with no oil use.I did modify (remove/change) several things to eliminate/correct issues.
