Yes/No - Does your mileage fall within the EPA Expected Range For Most Drivers?

Please vote in the poll!

Regardless of which engine you have, there are so many threads with people praising, complaining, and otherwise commenting on their fuel economy and how the EPA ratings are awful. I thought I'd take a poll.

The expected range is shown in little numbers, below the big bold City/Highway averages.

My sticker says the expected range is 12 to 18 mpg/City and 17 to 25 mpg/Highway.

With about 9600 miles on my truck, my average since I took delivery is 18.1 mpg, so I am just about dead center in the EPA estimates.

So I vote "Yes, my average falls within the EPA EPA Expected Range For Most Drivers."

I get lower than the big bold numbers but within the expected range, which is the key to this poll. That should be bolder and explained better in the original post so people like me who do not get sticker do not vote no mistakenly.

Great truck, no problems so far and good mileage for the power available.

@EBinMT - It is bolded in the OP. But I will try to make it more prominent.

@Deadlyblade2k - How does 18.5-19.7 mpg fall outside a range that goes from 12 to 25 mpg?

The expected range for most drivers is pretty stupid. Its such a broad range... I realize that every truck is different and people drive differently, but 12-25 MPG?

I agree, but that's what the EPA presents us with.

low of 12 city, high of 25 highway.

12-18 city
17-25 highway

personally I have seen 18city and 24.5 highway on my MPG indicator actually hypermiling. I did not have to stop once on a 6 mile city run after filling up by planning ahead for stop lights. speed varied from 5-45mph. My wife promptly ruined that average before I could build on it by idling the truck in the driveway the next morning for 5min. My 24.5 highway was during break in. I was using the hills to vary my speed between 50 and 80mph for a 20 mile stretch. I will not do those numbers everyday. I consistantly do 16-17 city, 19-20 highway on the lie-o-meter. My wife however is the main driver and can't touch my numbers. The truck mostly sees city... wait, I will change that to Town driving. We have 4 stop lights with max speed of 45. Lifetime average on the Lie-o-meter is 16.
