Will they make 6.2L available in RC/SB?
Just curious if anyone else thinks they might put that 6.2 hog in a singlecab short wide ala "Lightning", or a special version ("Boss", etc.).
I'll be looking to get a reg. cab short bed when I graduate college to mod out and right now I'm looking at the XLT with the 5.0. Just wondering if I should wait for the big dog to come out. With ARH and SW jumping on the longtubes for the 5.0 - looks like there is a lot of promise with that motor in the future (lowered compression or not).

Good question. I've often wondered if they left the EB and 6.2 out of the RCSB just to reserve that for a special edition/SVT later on. The true Mustang 5.0 or Boss motor would also make it interesting. However, none of these make as much power as the SC 5.4 of yesteryear.
I would think they wouldn't release a Lightning with less power than those produced 7 years before.
Being that the 6.2 is making 410 hp in its first year of production, and it's a big, heavy engine of moderate displacement, I have to believe there is more potential there. Also, everybody knows about the Road Runner/Bobcat 5.0's. These all might be better options.

Good point, Mike. It would have to have more power than a previous SVT/sp. ed. truck of yesteryear. I would think there's more potential the 6.2l also - given it's 2V head set-up (and iron block??) and what they can currently squeeze out of a 1.2L smaller motor. A performance built EB would be sweet too (perhaps in V8 form, ).
Not sure RR/Bobcat 5.0s are, I'll have to look them up. Also didn't think about the newer aluminum 5.4L out of the GT500, but I doubt they'd put anything remnant of the older motors into a reborn lightning.
***edit: Guess I mentioned a RR 5.0 in my suggestions before I knew what they were. :p The Bobcat is interesting for sure.

For sure, JW. Wouldn't need the 4.10s with the 6-spd tranny + turbo torque, and I'm sure a stock eco in a RC/SB configuration would hit a high 13 (given the configuration was possible). Give me TT 450hp/450tq with 3.31s, a 6 sp auto, traction bars, fully adjustable to shocks/struts, leveled suspension, with some sweet interior accents, 20" SVT-ish wheels, and a good hood. Sign me up. Haha

I had Mike at 5Star tune my 6.2 and I have to tell you it is a completely different beast. I didn't put it on a track or Dyno prior to the tune and have not yet but by the seat of my pants I would say I am getting 30-40% more power. Responsiveness is unreal as well.
