Why is the rev limiter so low on the 5.0?

I wouldn't buy the 3.7 in a truck for any reason. I don't even know why its even an option in a truck based lineup.

Its limited to 5500rpms because 90% of the truck owners will never have there truck above 4000rpms... Its a truck not a race car.

This made me laugh...

I'm new to Ford trucks with a 2011 screw in tux black, 5.0, lots of goodies. With just about 5000 miles. I bet 99% of the time at take off the revs never get over 2000.

I've put my foot in it a few times to avoid other cars or pass and love the sound (I know the EB has higher numbers, but after driving both, the V8 was the one for me).

I was just thinking about the tach the other day and wondering when I would ever use the top 3000 or so.

Maybe someday...
