Why does it seems service departments are completely imcompetent?

Pinewood Ford (Thunder Bay On. Canada)- My home town dealership is HORRIBLE.
Parts is okay but SALES and Service are the worst. I will never give them a penny of my money. I now buy all parts online, will only go there if its a warranty item. Will also never buy another vehicle from them.

I see a Ford rep constantly asking for those with problems to give her some info. Do any take advantage of that offer? If so would be nice to hear back and give some feedback.

Funny, I was in a dealership trying to buy a front license plate bracket for my Ecoboost, and the guy in the parts dep't couldn't understand why I wanted/needed an offset license plate bracket. I told him that all the EB were mounted on the side of the bumper, not the middle, and he looked at me like I was on crack and asked why I would want to do that. I mumbled something about the intercooler and my understanding that it was supposed to be done that way, and pointed at one that was parked right outside, dealer's tag in full view, he said, "oh, some kids LIKE to mount them that way these days, but you are supposed to mount it in the middle." I said nevermind and left ...

so far, my dealer has been good, got my rear bumper plastic trim piece warrantied...now its a 2 wk wait to get in for oil/alignment and check for warranty on my rear shocks...2wk wait???....not happy with that..maybe the reno's should have been on a bigger shop and more techs...

The issue is that dealers don't transmit the customer complaints back to ford. It doesn't take a genius to look at this forum alone and see the huge numbers of people with Ecoboost and see the spark plug variation. If ford would look at data like this they could do many more people a great service by issuing a TSB to allow the service writers access to the info.
Instead my PCM got flashed and my already abysmal 12/15 mpg went down to 11/13 city highway, don't get me wrong I love my truck just wish these dealers had competent people that would listen to the customer and investigate what we ask them to. It's a simple request in my opinion, have a tech pull the plugs and check them. If they are fine then I'll gladly pay for the work, but my suspicion is they aren't and despite expressing this nothing happens.
I miss the good old days when customer service meant something.
