Default 2012 5.0 Grinding Noise on Cold Start

My truck made a grinding noise for a bout 2 seconds after I started it this morning.

This is the first time it has done it and I am afraid it could be the timing chains or cam phaser.

Has anyone had this happen with a 2012+ 5.0 before? I have seen where the Eco's and the 2011 5.0 have had TSB issued, but noting on 2012 5.0's.

My truck has 54,000 miles on it and I cannot tell you how excited I am to go to my local dealer and have them TRY to fix this issue. *sarcasm*

Any info is appreciated.

Thanks for reaching out, Barely Boosted. This sounds frustrating, but I'm glad that you're planning on having your dealer take a look. Were you able to get your truck there for diagnosis yet? If so, please fill me in with any updates. If not, use this tool to conveniently schedule an appointment online.

I'll be on the lookout for any news from you.

Have a great day!

Brittany
