But a tune wasnt part of the question, nor a common situation.

No it's an assumption. Everyone knows a tune is required with e85 as well as any upgraded turbo. You didn't use e85 in your stock EB did you?

Why else would you want E85, also bigger turbos was part of the initial question, bigger turbos = tune.

For the E85 question from others here's my best answer:
If you had enough fueling to support E85 even on the stock platform or an E85 mix (E50 is fine) you can pick up a ton of HP with no other changes than a tune and E85 or E50. You will need a bigger DI pump at least, for BIGGER turbos and down the road injectors as well.

I will be going down this path very shortly, just waiting on the call from the dealer to pick up the FX4 ecoboost that we're trading our FX2 in on. No reason to have big HP in an FX2 if I just encounter wheel spin any time I try and floor it in 1st or 2nd gear.

4x4 makes launching this thing much easier. Good choice on the upgrade. There's a lot more to launching the 2wd and combating the axle wrap. Soooo technically I need both to run e85.

I voted for the pump as its feasible in my short term goals.

I am in like flynn for both... I would bolt a pair of GT28rs to the truck in a heartbeat. nothing huge but an easy 550 hp and still streetable and capable of towing. These things do like 6xx on the S4 2.8L when pushed. We have higher compression and more displacement.

But, I'd say turbos and run regular fuel, as always.

Seriously, E85 is a joke. You lose power and fuel economy. I've used it, I've towed with it, I've driven several tanks of it back to back, it's garbage.
a proper performance tune with E85 (not swapping back and forth in a flex fuel vehicle) should pick up a noticeable difference in power, especially on a forced induction engine...octane similar to 105 octane unleaded and lowers cylinder temps to boot = waaaay more room for increased timing. Ive seen supercharged Lightnings and Mustangs pick up 20 - 40 hp with nothing but E85 and new tune (adjust for stoich of E85, more timing, same boost...gains get even bigger when turning up the boost!). At around the cost of regular unleaded vs anywhere from $9-$20 per gallon of various race fuels E85 is awesome

I'm game for injectors and a higher volume HPFP. Got E85 20 minutes from the house. And I know its good stuff cause I've tested it and there is a 1200whp Chevy turbo LS motor pickup truck that fuels up his cans and fuel cell there also.

So any new updates?
