Who has moved from a 5.0 to EB?
I'm thinking about making the switch. I'm not overly impressed by the torque of the 5.0 down low. Mainly want more low end for pulling trailers. Who has made the switch and are you happy with your decision?

Lol, I was just going to start a thread asking who has moved from and ecoboost to a 5.0 and their thoughts.
I can tell ya the ecoboost dose have that low end torque you just can't beat. What gears do you have in your 5.0?

Thinking the 5.0 just for something different next truck.
I will be towing with it though so not sure, the low end torque of the ecoboost is so addicting.
II really like my ecoboost even thoughshe's been in for warranty work 2 times in the last year. Once front timing chain cover leak, 2nd time the end seals in the plug wells had to be replaced. She runs strong though, if I didn't do my own plug changes I would have never noticed those issues.

My 5.0 was in the shop 3 times before 5k miles. They seem to finally have it fixed. I'm thinking of go to the EB max tow or a F250 6.7 too. I had a diesel in the past, but I think they are little more refined than they used to be. You couldn't hear yourself think when that 5.9L was running. Pulled great though. I was hoping the EB would be a good compromise.

I went from a 2011 SCREW FX4 5.0 to a 2013 SCREW Lariat EB.
Really liked the 5.0 but we got a bigger TT so I wanted Max Tow and the EB.
7200 lbs vs 7650 lbs GVWR - payload went from 1257 lbs to 1602 lbs.
Both trucks had 3.73 rear ends.
5.0 towed well but the torque on EB is unreal.
Wouldn't hesitate to buy either engine again.

Nope, no improvements from 13-14, only real changes are the mounts for the coil overs on the lower A-arms. I do know of a few guys that replaced their older ecoboost with 2014's that had issue with tuning on the 14's, but that's probably just luck of the draw.
