I would never run Pennzoil as i have seen too many motors that were crusted over with Pennzoil junk.
Do a little research: http://www.bobistheoilguy.com/forums...opics/915945/1
(as an example)

Also, I've read things about Pennzoil Platinum handling fuel dilution a bit better than Mobil 1. I still don't think you can go wrong with M1, but fuel dilution is an issue with the Ecoboost.

HTO-06 exceeds Ford WSS-M2C945-A and every other spec out there. Oils that meet that spec keep the engine cleaner.
Nearly all oils meet the Ford spec- Quaker State, Valvoline, Castrol Edge, etc
Very few oils meet HTO-06.

I have been around and worked on vehicles for most of my life. You are the first person I have EVER heard call Pennzoil junk.

I hope your being sarcastic. Lots of people have talked bad about that oil.

I realize they may have changed over the years but I have seen motors crusted over with gunk and the owners only ran Pennzoil. I had a 83 skylark that I replaced the valve cover gasket in. When I removed it there was so much buildup it was amazing. The owner changed her oil every 3k with Pennzoil. I think the car had 100k on the odometer.

It's one of those things. Once you have been ruined by something or have had a bad experience, it's hard to change. I'm not saying you guys are dumb for running it, I just don't want to run it in my truck.

Eco I run that Penn Ultra 10w-30 in the wife's 4.0L Grand Caravan with a Fram Ultra filter. Since she only drives 10-12k mile a year.

Probably send it to Blackstone for analysis afterwards.
