What oil do you use in your Ecoboost?
#2
Pennzoil Platinum 5W30 because it meets the Honda/Acura HT0-06 spec for turbos
Most oils don't meet this spec.
Oil Specification for Turbocharged Engines
Honda/Acura HTO-06
Main feature is a modified hot-tube test. Purpose:
• Evaluate the deposit-forming tendency of an oil after aging. (Testing an oil in fresh condition only is not useful.)
• The aging procedure simulates additive consumption and sludge/soot build-up.
1. Moisture & NOx Bubbling
2. Sludge/Soot Simulation
3. Hot Tube
• Procedure is available to lubricant and additive companies upon request.
• This procedure does not discriminate against high-moly oils. (High-moly oils are not a problem for Honda turbocharger technology.)
• This test correlates well with Honda turbocharger testing (bench and real-world).
Most oils don't meet this spec.

Keepin' the lights on!
Was using Motorcraft Syn-blend 5w-30 for 35k miles. Just switched to Pennzoil Ultra 5w-30 so I'll so how that goes.

I'll be running Mobil 1. Not sure if it will be 0w-30 or 5w-30
I would never run Pennzoil as i have seen too many motors that were crusted over with Pennzoil junk.
