I have been eyeing the 4" Diamond Eye exhaust for my 5.0 and was wondering if I will be hurting my trucks performance/mileage with this exhaust. I just have an intake and SCT tuner. The price looks really great even with stainless piping and doesn't seem too loud for such a small muffler.

If it's a cat back I don't see it causing any harm. You still have your cat sand factory 3"ish Y so that will still create enough back pressure. Would give a deep tone for sure.

I'd say so, but minimally because cat backs don't do anything for power at all because they come later down the line. 3" primary maintains low end torque. Something as large as 4" needs forced induction, really just a turbo.

Here is the kit. They also make a 3.5" kit but I was looking at the 4" because if the exhaust is too loud for my liking I was just going to add a resonator/muffler on.

It will reduce low end torque because of exhaust velocity loss. Same reason why with N/A engines you want smaller primaries on headers is to maintain velocity. It will be minimal though as the rest is left stock.

I noticed, at least at first while the computer was learning, a loss when I installed my headers. As it learned it gained big above 3500rpm and seamed to surge with more power. I added the blower a few days after installing the headers so I'll never know how much it really affected it.

Ah I see. I just can't believe how expensive some of the 3" systems are since its basically a stock system with a different muffler, unless they figured out some magical route to place the exhaust.

A single 4” only flows 5.5% more than dual 2.75”s (stock Mustang stuff). And you can go dual 3” on the Mustangs with zero low end loss. So no, a 4” will not hurt performance.

Dual 2.75"= 7,664sq mm

Dual 3"= 9,120sq mm

Single 4"= 8,107sq mm

I have the 4" Heartthrob Exhaust and have not noticed any losses.

4" Solo exhaust on my 5.0, didn't really notice any changes in power.

The 4" is a bit on the larger side. A N/A Coyote wont move enough air for a 4in exhaust. Even on the Supercharged or Turbo Coyote's we only ever need to run full 3in, unless it has some major engine and cylinder head work then we would go bigger.

Being that it is just the catback. The most you will lose is maybe some bottom en torque. It should sound real deep.
