Are you experiencing a similar issue? I understand your concern regarding the recreation of the symptom, although I do suggest taking a technician on a drive regardless. Thanks Brittany. My Truck is a 2011 FX2 Super Crew that I bought brand new July 1st of 2011. My current mileage is 51,275 of which 98% is pure interstate driving from Florida to Louisiana and back every two weeks. Going up slight grades or hills the truck exhibits what feels like a miss just like everyone else is reporting on this sight. I have had the TSB update for the CAC done about 1 1/2 years ago but that is a different issue.

You're welcome; thanks for clarifying, BoostedFx. Do you have that dealer appointment scheduled soon? If so, I suggest scheduling an appointment for them to diagnose as soon as possible. Once you've scheduled an appointment, I'll escalate this to the regional customer service manager for further assistance. Please send me a private message with your full name, VIN, servicing dealership information, and best daytime contact number in order for me to get started.

Keep me in the loop!

Mine wouldn't buck per say but you could feel a miss. Once hooked up to my trailer it was a different story. Hooked up, it was jarring both up and down hills at 55.

Checked my plug gaps and they were all over the place. Regapped, still bucked. Went in for the tsb and the problem went away and hasn't returned.
What exactly does the TSB address and does anyone know the #?
My dealer doesn't know anything unless I tell them.

I don't have the # handy - I looked but can't find my paperwork. It addresses a miss or bucking sendation in 6th gear. I had my guys check for it - told them I had a missing feeling in 6th gear only as well as some shifting weirdness. They found the TSB, did that as well as update the rest of the programming. Fixed the issues for me.

Thanks, Britton, I have 62,000 now and 63, 000 by the time I return from this trip, so I am past warranty. I took it in for a cicada noise under acceleration at 59k and they replaced the vacuum pump for almost $700 and the cicada noise is still there, so I don't have a lot of confidence in their diagnostics. My Torque Pro shows no misfires and I recently replaced the plugs myself after they ruined a set by over torquing. They had confused my discussion of spark blow out with spark plug blowout. 😈

I'm not sure Ski, office is a mess and can't find the number. I can tell you that instead of the truck feeling like a miss at 55mph it no longer "likes" to hang at that speed.

What I mean is trying to cruise at that speed going up hill is difficult. A tiny variance of pedal pressure will send you sailing past your intended speed by a few mph. Don't get me wrong, you can hold the speed, it's just not that black hole feeling when you accelerate gently. Feels like different mapping to me.

That sounds like a frustrating experience. I'll get you and your dealer in contact with the regional customer service manager for further assistance. You'll need to schedule an upcoming appointment for service with your dealer, first. Then, send me a private message with your full name, VIN, dealership/appointment information, and best daytime contact number. I'll be on the lookout for your message!

A feel of spark miss on a gradual pull up hill on the Interstate is probably Cops insulation leak if you know the Iridiums are good. Been there. It will gradually worsen. If your cops are in great shape pull your intake manifold.

Thanks for your input. Wouldn't it show up in mode 6 as a miss though? It still may be worth trying vs taking it to the dealer and getting a blank look. I've had my last big tow of the season, so I won't experience the problem until next spring. I may order a couple of COPs from RockAuto to play with though.

Just go ask the dealership about the TSB. I believe they replace the tranny module. There should only be 1 TSB out that does this.
