Default Weep Hole and Catch Can?

Just curious if it has been asked before, anyone have a catch can and still drilled the hole in the CAC? If so are you still getting weeping out of the CAC? How about fuel in oil? I have two first Generation UPR catch cans installed and still getting fuel in the oil, wondering if I should drill the hole and see what I find.

Have you had the truck in and the current tsb done for this?

How about the hpfp looked at?

While drilling the hole will help with other things it will not help with fuel in the oil.

And yes, a lot of people do both, they are for two different issues

I did. My can caught a lot of water, but apparently not enough. Had to end up drilling a hole anyway. After the can though, there was no more gunk like before in the CAC, only clear water.

The catch can only captures what is coming out of the PVC system and drilling the hole allows for condensing water to evacuate from the intercooler. The condensation in the intercooler will happen just due to moisture in the air being pushed through it by the turbos. So it's not all captured by the catch can.

As already stated, neither of these will resolve fuel in oil.

Didn't know anything about a TSB on this issue, others have noted that their oil level goes up and mine stays about the same but now at 10k and 2 oil changes that I have performed myself the smell of fuel is overwhelming.

If its only condensation in the CAC why then when guys drill the hole are they getting sludge? You would think it would only be water.

Because the PVC system vents into the intake on the hot-side. From what I've seen, those running catch-cans have very little oil residue making it into the intercooler afterwards. The only way I could see there still being anything of measure is if there was another issue like a blown/leaky turbo seal.

This is literally all over the internet. Google ecoboost fuel in oil and hundreds of threads come up.

I'm on my phone so searching isn't the best but this is one tsb# that came up TSB 14-0014

The updated tsb is 15-003, but it's not fixing any issues. You will need a catch can and to use synthetic oil from what I'm reading. As far as the weep hole, I have a problem understanding how you can drill a hole and not lose pressure.
