Volant Cold Air Intake for ECOBOOST

Eco-5.0-Eco again
CFM is what matters, Volant made a "cold air" for ther Lightning a few years back and it did nothing a K&N flat panel could have done. They have cool looks but no real benefit...but to each his own I guess.

If you look at it, it looks nearly like a stock box with a cone filter. It looks like it still has to suck the air through the fender inlet, correct? If so, I can see how that comparison could be made. The main gains would be from a higher flowing filter as the stock air boxe gets its air frome outside the engine compartment.

Back in the day, a couple guys who I used to race with (Lightnings) tried the Volant intake, we dyno'd the stock airbox w/K&N...the stock box actually did better than the Volant.

Nothing wrong with installing a cold air kit...
It won't be long before someone compares all kits and even the stock air box to see what fares best. I'm sure the twin turbos would respond nicely to an open air filter...
