Default Upgrading Exhaust Resonator Confusion! Something's Not Right Here!? (Pics)

Last week I picked up a 2013 RCSB STX in 4WD with the 5.0. Researched a few exhaust options and decided I really like the looks of a dumped setup so I ordered up a Magnaflow #17137 which is their Off Road Pro series and is listed on their website to fit a 2011-12 truck just like mine so I figured surely it would be the same for a 2013.

Kit arrived today but I won't be able to install it until Monday. I had sent an email to Magnaflow asking if the #17137 would work for the 2013 and never received a response before I placed an order. Today I received a response saying the exhaust on the 13-14 models is different. Magnaflow shows the STOCK exhaust on a 13-14 5.0 as looking like this:

When I look under my truck it looks like the standard large can resonator that I've seen on so many pictures heh. Sorry for the bad pics but here's how my truck looks.

Talking to Magnaflow they claim that my truck should have the same setup as shown in their 13-14 picture above but it does not. My truck was built 9/13 anyone know if the setup Magnaflow shows is something that changed later in the year or something? They claim the kit I ordered for the 11-12 setup will not work with my truck but my truck looks to have the exact same setup as other 11-12s I've seen on here. Any input is much appreciated!

Sorry for another post but this is a diagram of the kit that I purchased:

The two different connection pipes towards the front are supposed to be different for the 3.7 or the 5.0 depending on which one the system is used on.

Hmm, you have me interested in this. I can confirm though that your exhaust looks the exactly the same as mine, just a shortened version. My truck is a 2012.

Thanks for the confirmation on that bduke. It's definitely a confusing situation. Here's a pic of the kit that Magnaflow claims is made specifically for the 13-14 5.0 & EB trucks. Looks like it has the same sort of flexible resonator.

From looking at the pictures, it looks like the kit you purchased is the one you need. The connection points look like they match up to your current exhaust, but I am sure someone else with a RCSB and stop in here and confirm this for you.

Flexible resonator? Looks like a regular piece of steel braided flex pipe to me. I had one welded into my setup when I pieced it together.

Maybe I referred to it incorrectly. Just couldn't think of a better work to describe it. Mainly curious as to if any 2013-2014 owners have seen this setup on their trucks.

I thought maybe it was a resonator considering most of the 5.0 trucks seem to be equipped with a resonator.

I just picked up a 2013 RCSB 2wd STX.
Mine looks just like this.

Looks like the pipe is 2.75" from the cats back, then chokes down to 2" after the two bolt flange.

I have a huge 3" I/O 6"x30" Magnaflow canister sitting in my garage. I am going to remove everything from that two bolt flange back and install the muffler with it dumped just before the rear axle. I just need to find a flange like the factory one and some hangers. Not sure how it will sound, but that big **** muffler should keep it tame and hopefully no drone being dumped.

Thanks for checking yours out HULZ. I suppose I'll just put the truck up on a lift and hole each part of the new kit up to see if it looks as If it lines up before removing any of the old exhaust. I just really hope it fits correctly because the kit I purchased is non-refundable.

As far as the flange goes for your setup, I believe I read somewhere that Dynomax makes on that is compatible. Might check with them.
