Question Unteachable trans?

So i have a 2011 F-150 Screw Eco, the problem im having (if it is an actual problem) is that im getting a periodic hard shift from 2nd to 3rd. i say periodic because some times are extremely hard but others times its lighter but its always there. It seems like on light acceleration it shifts harder than on a heavy acceleration. Temp doesnt seem to be a factor since it happens at all different trans temps. Its not leaking any fluid. Ive dealt with the shutter issue and i know its not that. this is something totally different. Truck has 9000 miles on it and its been like this since ive owned it...bought truck with 6700 miles on it. Anyone else out there have a similar issue? if so have you had it looked at? thanks in advance

My '11 exhibited the same problem from time to time. Mine had the hard shift between 4th & 5th. even after it was reprogrammed. I spoke with my dealers Service writer, and the tranny tech. They agreed that if I wanted they would take the tranny out, tear it down, and see if they could find the problem. They have always tried to help me with problems. After talking more with the mechanic, I decided against going in this drastic because of the rareness of the problem. I think mine had more to do with the way I was acclerating for speed, and letting off the gas at just at the wrong time then re-acclerating (if you understand what I mean) causing the rough shift. Hope this might help. Still not a bad idea to take a trip to the dealer.

Mine will occasionally. Every 1 in a 100 shifts its hard. But I like hard shifts so it doesn't bother me.

My 2011 had same symptoms. I finally broke down and took it in. There is a tsb covering it.

Had the reflash done and am SO glad I did.

Night and day difference in shift strategy. Take it in, trust me. They've had several revisions on our 2011 models...

I do not. They should be able to find it when you tell them the symptoms and such.

I'm betting you have some rough downshifting as well as the 1-2 up shift and 3-4 up shift.

I have the exact problem with my 2011 ecoboost with 20000kms. I went in to the service dept 3 times to fix the problem. The first 2 times they reflashed the tranny according to the tsb that was out for the problem. The reason I brought it in the 2nd and 3rd time was because after 50kms or so, the problem returned. The 3rd time I brought it in, they agreed the reflashing wasn't working and told me they emailed the manufacturer to find out the next steps to take. They didnt want to tear into the tranny just yet in case ford wants them to document the process in case it results In a fix that can be used in future tsbs.

I recently tried to load my superchips tuner onto my truck. The tuner wouldn't work due to the different tranny computer software. But after the whole process of trying to install it my tranny is shifting about 75% better. Before it would hard shift between 2-3 and 4-5 EVERYTIME! Now it's only 1-100 shifts at best.

Has anyone tried the Lucas Oil transmission fix to see if that helps with the hard shifts?
