Tuners/ Tunes
Im hoping to get a tune for my Eco in the future. But i had a question about tunes on a tuner.
Im probably going to buy a setup from Mike at 5*. It now comes with 5 tunes that will give me a pretty good range.
My question is can i replace one of those 5 tunes from say another company. Say i want to use Mikes tunes for towing, but want to buy a Livernoise 93V2 tune for high performance? Can you plug the tuner in to your home computer and select which tunes you specifically want on the truck?
Or say i want to try a MPT tune, Do they just email me there tunes and i can just load 1 or 2 on my tuner while leaving my 5* tow tunes on it? And still carry 5 tunes with me at all times?
I appreciate any help.

LMS and 5Star use different devices. Someone else will have to comment on mix and match with the SCT tuner. LMS has great tow tunes though. The Livernois 91 tow felt like a performance tune to me.

Not sure about the voucher, I believe with the latest version of the SCT software the programmer (X3, the Livewire is already able to hold 10) holds up to 10 tunes, so you could have your 5* buy an MPT or other tune and store it on there as well. I've got my 3 from MPT, a tow tune from 5* and a Performance tune from Unleashed on mine.
Tunes come as an email attachment, you just save to your computer and add/remove the ones you want to store on your device.

To the OP, basically you have 10 tune slots available that you can use however you would like and they are always available on the tuner (unless you get an 11th and then you would need to pull one off the tuner).

the 3015 has three pre-loaded "canned" tunes so you can only load 7 additional. the x3-3000 has 10 custom tune slots but no preloaded SCT tunes....just depends on what you want.
If the 5* is the 3015 then you'll have 3"canned"+ 5 custom tunes with two more slots open.

Okay, will any 3015 work? Even if its from a mustang or a diesel? What about any X3-3000?
I know the canned tunes will not work, but the open slots, i can put what ever i want in them?
I was thinking about finding a used unmarried tuner on ebay and loading it up with the tunes that i want. Sounds like i might want to shop around some instead of buying all from one.

It needs to be a ford tuner...and I guess the 3015 with pre-loaded mustang tunes could work, I'd call SCT----AND OBVIOUSLY you COULD NOT run the mustang tunes on the truck.
I wouldn't want a 3015 w/ "not ecoboost f150" tunes....I'd accidentally try to load one. But yes any "Ford" x3 3000 should work just fine. If it doesn't have the newest software download just update so it'll hold 10 slots.
