Default tuned turbo surge

After tuning I'm getting a lot of compressor surge or turbo flutter on the drivers side. I'm not sure if it's OK or not. It happens every time I'm over 5 lbs of boost abs I let out of it I can hear a howl any advice?

What tune are you running? That doesn't sound normal to me.

Try loading the SCT canned 91 or 93 to see if it happens there. In the past, I have had a tune cause flutter and that went away after tune revisions.

I don't have the canned tunes. I bought this from 5star for my 09 f150 and just added tunes from LET

2014 f150 Ecoboost turbo noise:

Ignore the creaking traction bars but the 2nd or 3rd time I bring the rpms you can hear it.

When I first load a tune I get the flutter a couple times. Then it shortly disappears. I love the flutter sound, even though I know it shouldn't.

I enjoy it haha I go to a lot of truck pulls and to hear diesels do it is great. I did notice it was more intermittent on the way home from work then on the way to work

Just asked Erick he said that's how he spools the turbos and it's completely fine. He already sent me a revision. As soon as my spark plugs from him come in I'm going to do the data logging and send it to him.

I think I'll keep the turbo noise now that I know it's ok. I'll keep the revisions on the tuner just incase but I like it so.

Keep in mind that the BOV and its vent tube are more on the driver side than passenger so you will hear that air being introduced back into the intake. With a tune, it is more prevalent than stock. Mine is tuned and doesn't make quite that much noise, but definitely makes more than stock.

I have a similar issue but not as bad as in the video above. My truck rarely ever makes this noise. I only notice under load. I run a 5* 87 perf/tow tune. The only time I hear this noise is when I'm towing. Most recently I was towing a 21' enclosed trailer approx 5000 lbs at 70 mph. I was running 2,100 rpm at 70 mph and had to pass a car on the highway, gave it some gas and it sounded like the sound in the video at 15 secs.

Just want to confirm that this causes no harm.
