Tune or no tune, 3.7....

Tune or no tune, 3.7....
Well i just picked up a 2013 F-150 with a 3.7L & 37,000KM. Love the truck so far, i have a tuner already that i used on my 2013 mustang GT and had a few questions.
There is not too much info available on this engine, seems most people have the ecoboost or 5.0. Been searching for 3.7 engine problems but have not found any. Wondering if anyone knows or has had engine failures on the 3.7L and wondering if it would be safe to tune/any body beeen denied warranty on their 3.7 for having a tune? Will just be using a canned SCT tune until i fork out the 100$ for a 5* or MPT tune..... just wondering if it is worth the risk right now and wondering how many people have had problems with their 3.7 or have heard of problems with the 3.7?
Also, truck is stock, looking for firmer shifts and crisper throttle.
Thanks in advance.

The Mustang guys have been pushing the Ford 3.7L to it limits for a while now and its proved itself to be a pretty stout engine. Whether you stick to just a tune, mild bolt-ons or go with forced induction, you should be fine.

There's a 3.7 mustang with a Procharger on Youtube that's eating people alive. Lol. Those little engines are very stout. Which is surprising based on Ford's history with V6's overheating and being underpowered. If I didn't haul the weight I do occasionally, I'd have went the 3.7 route.
I haven't heard of any major problems with the 3.7. That being said, it's like any other engine. If you run it lean with a tune it will pop. I would personally say get the tune. Good luck with your decision.

I've had my 3.7l since 2012 and love it. I got a 5 star tune about 2 years ago and found noticeable improvements. I also use it to tow my 5000 pound trailer flawlessly. I've also heard good stuff about MPT tunes . So either should open up the little engine that could.
