Recently installed a K&N in my 2013 fx4 .When I drive on interstate or have passengers at higher speeds it sounds like 2 pieces of metal hitting together any suggestions on what the problem could be.

I am assuming it didn't do this prior to you installing the k&n. Go back over the install and make sure everything is tight and clearances are good. Also make sure you didn't drop anything in the engine compartment.

Only happened 2xs both times going up a hill but after it kicks into gear it went away
