2011's have both, it works to transfer torque at both ends.

Either way though, Whatever this system is that kicks in, it sucks and makes these new trucks just a jackrabbits *** hair way from being useless in any amount of snow over about 6-8".
The ABS based traction function doesn't impede progress at all, it helps it! It's like LSD at both axles with none of the drawbacks.
The stability control will double cross you though, as will the traction control when it's turned off.

My 2011 FX4 has the e-locker but they all have the one wheel spin control. I can turn advancetrac/traction control off and leave two black marks on the pavement (straight or in a circle, LOL!)...actually the spin control works so good I've never really needed the e-locker... I don't find it to be a nag at all in wet grass, mud, snow, ice, etc...

watch especially at 0:20...

Really? This is a subforum for 2011+ F150 it isnt just about engine stuff. We have the subforum do to the different engines from the 09-10 years. Even though the exterior didnt change other things besides the engine have!

Spin Control pt 2.mp4 - YouTube

Clay,

With AT and TC turned off, does the traction light still come on to the left of the light that turns on when AT is turned off? I hope that made sense to someone besides me.

I've been having this light turn on anytime i have excess wheel spin with AT and TC turned off. Something is still kicking in and im not sure what it is.

Not looking for a pissing match Rok, sorry if i came off that way. I know there are many thread in the 11+ ENGINE subforum that are certainly not engine related.

Just a pet-peeve of mine i guess.....

No pissing match. Sorry if it came off that way. I changed my OP as I read it and though maybe it could.

Also I used to get bothered by it especially the million mpg threads when you lift or add tires but I just decided its not worth my time.

I honestly don't remember 100% but I want to say there was another light on/blinking in addition to the light that comes on when you turn AT/TC off. I do remember hearing the ABS working for the one wheel spin control but there wasn't any power reduction.

blueoval95 - I turned off the traction control and it still has traction control assistance. How did I fully turn off the t/c. This t/c is killing me in the snow. And yes I hit the stupid button on the dash to turn it off.
You need to press -AND- HOLD the button until the flashes and then goes steady-on.
*Usually have to hold the button for ~10 seconds.
Have used this procedure from day 1 of taking delivery of my new 2011 FX4, and have NEVER had a traction control being re-activated issue (unless the button is re-pushed to do so).
