Background. Integrated circuit manufacturing. BSEE MSEE. Worked as reliability engineer for 3years also. Statement is correct that the probability of failure is highest in the beginning and then decreases to a low steady state until wear out which is typically 10+ years. For high reliability applications we do a burn in to weed out the early failures
