Default A thought on why 3.73s trap lower with a couple of mods or less

Sorry if this was discussed before. Thinking back on my runs Friday night, i noticed I was shifting into 4th right through the traps. 3.55s would not have this issue, and likely trap higher because of this. Next time I will try to hold it in 3rd through the traps and see what happens. I still have enough safe RPM left. Has anyone else tried this with 3.73s?

TurboPete was working on trying to get his truck to shift into 4th sooner to make it load the turbos more. In other words it would be better to be able to shift into 4th sooner than to scream through the lights at 6200rpm.

That makes sense as HP starts dropping off over 5000 RPM.

I have my tunes set up at -3 mph through 1-3 gear. Was going to change 3-4 gear change to -3 mph also. But between the tune changes it started raining, so no more runs with the changes.
The earlier shifts will put it back into its tq/hp sweet spot...imo

Good info. I'll try both ways next time.
