Did y'all see where the EPA also do a high speed test that goes up to 80 mph? After looking at the drive cycle graphs, not just average speed, I felt like they weren't that unrealistic. The part that bothers me is that the EPA test uses pure gas not the e10 that they make us use.

Just my opinion but I don't drive anything like the test whatsoever. Here is the link:https://www.fueleconomy.gov/feg/fe_test_schedules.shtml

What do others thing?

Do you have a linky? That seems a heck of a lot more realistic that the other EPA testing parameters.

Click through all 5 tabs to see the cycles used. Personally, I don't start/stop as often or as aggressively as most of them.

How many people get an average worse than the city or better than highway rating over the long term?

looks like the new testing criteria (I use "new" loosely as it has been in place since 2008), made some difference. I used their calculator and pre-2007 vehicle dropped about 1 city mpg and 2 hwy mpg between the "new" and old criteria.

Nice to see that they do include the higher speed test in the criteria, but it still seems skewed compared to reality as the entire test is only 10 minutes long. time above 60mph I estimate at 5 minutes of the test. Only the AC test actually puts the AC on during any of the tests.

I certainly didn't buy my truck for mpgs, but I'm more than happy with what I get for mileage in the real world. This is my 5th Ford truck and other than my little Ranger with a 2.9L, it's by far the best on fuel. It's probably the only truck I've had that I feel fine with using as a Daily Driver.
