I guess, what is the conclusion? Should I get the intercooler replaced? I read in another thread that there were complaints of power loss?
MOST people that complained of power loss said it appears to come back after putting some miles on the truck.

Does Ford have to wait for someone to be killed because of the intercooler design issue before recalling all affected Ecoboost F150s? I am really disappointed with Ford for making the whole deal a TSB only, and keeping owners like myself in the darkness.

Why don't you just get the update done, instead of questioning everything?

Your dealer should be able to supply you with a loaner while they fix it, and yes they should give you a 4wd so you can still go hunting.

Mine is getting some paint fixed and they are giving me a 4wd so I can do my work.

Maybe I want to broaden my knowledge of my truck and the issue in case this does not fix it? Just gain knowledge for personal betterment?

I don't have time right now to clean every piece of hunting gear out of my cab and box. Yes they will give me a 4x4 truck, I've done it before. But I'm not gonna spend hours moving it between vehicles. I do not have time. I'm at work at 7, leave at 1:45 to hunt, get back to work around 6 and stay til 10 pm. Doing stuff around the house(cleaning, laundry, dishes, etc) takes up the rest of my time and if I'm lucky I get to pop in a big dip and watch TV for a half hour before I pass out on the couch.

When the seasons over, my truck will get emptied and completely cleaned up one weekend. Then they can take it.

Well I hate to rain on the parade but the new CAC is not fixing the problem for everyone. I just spoke to a friend that had the new CAC installed a few weeks ago and has since had the truck fall on its face twice. Very disappointing but I cant say I am surprised.

As I said to my service manager, if its the CAC then why didn't my truck do this since day one. If however they are finding the CAC with cracks or loose fittings then I can see it but from what I can gather the old CAC's are coming off with no noticeable damage.

Anyway just thought I would share. Very disappointing for sure.

I have the 2012 XLT 2WD SCREW with 3.55 gears , Build date July 21 2012. Mine does not have the CAC with the sensor in it, but does have the deflectors on both sides. My truck has 6500 mile and i have driven in all conditions except winter with no problems including towing my boat. Mine runs like a top but i also drive it with authority or use the power. It seems like the harder i run it the better it runs. Mine does on occasion feel like it is missing or surging during accelerationand then i run it out some then it cleans out and runs great.

The TSB says you should have codes P0300,... set before they do the new CAC. My truck has never set the codes. I expect a battle with the dealer to get them to install a new CAC. Has anyone else had the problem, went to the dealer and had no codes set, then be refused the new CAC.

It doesn't happen all the time. It only happens under the right weather conditions, driving style, truck axel ratio, etc. Be glad you haven't experienced it.

Pardon my ignorance, but that's the first time I've heard that axle ratio can be a causal factor for the fall-on-its-face issue?

I have a 2011 EB Lariat Scab w/3.55 LSD, and have 12k on my truck... no issues, and I've driven through heavy, heavy storms (derecho, Sandy and snow) with no ill effect. My highway driving is usually through mountainous terrain, so that could keep me from experiencing it.

After a few days the 55mph incline shudder seems to be gone due to the tsb changes.
