Default Are there any spark plug issues with the 5.0?

my 2013 just turned 70K and I'm thinking about changing the plugs. Is there any known problems taking them out like the 5.4 has?

No I believe that was all resolved in 2008, your talking about the removal issue right? My 08 had the newer setup so I had no issues.

Mine on a used 2008 I bought, were brown and I changed them with no issues.

as I recall also, there were 2 color boots: black and brown. If you had brown boots, you had the new design, black was trouble. Caveat: unless some one had changed the coils!

Just remember which way to loosen or there could be, lol! I have had mine out twice and replaced them with a new set. I took the gap down to around .044 on mine because I believe it helps with the occasional spark knock I use to get that I do not anymore. May want to use some gloves to protect the knuckles when removing. I believe they are suppose to be torqued at 11 lbs. Becareful with the little red release tabs, they will break easy. Coils will break off the edges too if they roll and fall and lands on the edges, don't ask me how I know that but super glue works great to fix it.
