One other thing I noticed is there is a small dent on my truck by the right rear wheel well that wasn't there before. I don't park my truck near anything and I washed my truck by hand the day before I left and it wasn't there, so I'm pretty sure it happened when it was in to get the oil changed, but I can't say for sure that it did.

Another thing is that when I was attempting to put the airbox lid back on I had to disconnect the tube that goes to engine but once I loosened the clamp and pulled it off I didn't disconnect the air flow sensor, so of course the tube came off suddenly after I had to put some muscle behind it to get it off and I broke the MAF sensor bracket. I thought I could just pull it off real easy and not disconnect the sensor but of course that didn't work out.

Anyway, I called the dealer in New Mexico and let them have it. The manager said he was "embarrassed" by the situation and told me they would stand behind the engine if anything goes wrong. He also told me to take it to a Ford dealer by my house and they would pay for having the MAF sensor bracket that I broke fixed. So I dropped it off today and will also have them look into some shifting problems it seems to be having and some steering issues.

One thing I like about my dealer is that a supervisor comes out to walk around my truck for inspection (with a clipboard) even if I'm only getting an oil change. I told him "write down every dent" because I know there are none.

Also when I went to the dealer's body shop and to the local truck outfitters they did the same thing with the clipboard. I really like it because it shows that they care, and it also confirms the condition of my truck.

They do that to protect themselves and the customer, I work at a marine shop, originally we just did inspection sheets for boat drop offs, wasn't good enough, our service writers didn't get every mark, or minor dent, or damages, and guess what the customer does when he picks up his boat.."you guys damaged it you guys lost my plug, blah blah blah".

Sure my guys aren't perfect I know they do damages and lose things here and there, but its not 100% our fault, majority of the time, but it gives the customer ammunition to try to blame us and get it for free or fixed free.

Sure not everyone is like that, but there is a good percentage of low lives out there that do that, ESP ppl that own boats, such a different breed of people.

So now inspection consists of a inspection sheet, and photos taken all around the boat!

That's a really good idea, wish they did that here. I can't say for sure they dented the truck so I didn't even bring it up.

I make the service writer walk around mine and jot down any dents or scratches in the memo box on the sheet. I learned to do that one the hard way with my last truck.

Euripides,

I hear ya, there are a lot of people out there to take advantage of people. A few years back I had just bought a Ford Expedition Limited, went to dinner with some friends and had it valet parked. when the valet brought the car back up after dinner there was a big white srcratch on the passenger side by the front fender, and I ripped the poor guy up and down. He assured me they would cover all damages and to call him the next day. Well long story short but I actually scratched it against the side of my garage and somehow didn't realize it. I felt terrible and called the guy (he was also the owner) and apologized. I felt bad for that ripping on him and he was relieved. I supposed I could have just kept quiet and had him pay for my stupidity but I'm not like that.

So anyway, I guess lesson learned and I don't want to blame someone for something they might not have done.

From now I'm doing the same. I should have done it when I took it to the dealer down here, but I never occurred to me. Next time for sure, good tip.
