The engine didn't make the noise until dealer replaced the engine at 5400 miles ( that's was a nightmare) when. I picked it up it started, my 2012 f150 ecoboost didn't make this sound

so, if they retrofitted your 2012 with a new PCM/BCM, a newer CAC and a 2013+ engine, you would get the same sound coming from the bank 1 side (passanger) no?

this is seemingly common for these "newer" truck, which a drivability tech once told me was due to the BOV being relocated.

but I'd definately want to know "if" this is normal or a condition

This my 2013 platinum that had a new engine not the 2012 I had, they didn't change that cac, and yes it seems to be the passenger side

I had the 60K service done yesterday and had mentioned the squealing. They said it is the vacuum pump behind the left headlight and they are on back order.

intresting... could very well be, but it does seem much more prominent, this noise that is, with the late model Ecoboosts.

Had truck at new dealer today , the tech. Drove it and thinks a new turbo is needed, this sucks , new engine at 5400 miles , then had to get a new cat replaced 2 weeks after that, now a new turbo 11,200 miles

wow... well I have the same kinda squeel with very little number of miles... guess I'll have to go to the dealer too

I own a 2013 F150 EcoBoost 4x4 and I just made 13K miles literally yesterday. I have never put it in the mudd and have never pulled anything or hauled any heavy loads what so ever. On my way home from the camp yesterday I have my cruise set at 65MPH. I come up on two cars and decide to pass them up, so I put my foot down and as soon the power/torque reached my rear wheels I heard what sounded like a sharp chatter/grinding/slipping noise come from what I think is the rear diff. Now I didn't experience any loss of power or any jerking, but I heard this sound and it was very alarming. After passing up the vehicles I let my truck get back down to 65MPH and I stomped the gas pedal again and sure enough....I heard the same noise. As long as I have the cruise set on 65MPH I can stomp the gas pedal and it will make this strange horrific sound every time. What's strange is that it only does it with the cruise set on 65MPH. I've tried it at various other speeds and it wont do it. I had my old man ride with me and let him hear the sound and he thinks its coming from the transmission but I am convinced that I hear it at the rear diff. Has anyone had this issue before? I bought the extended 5 year 100K power train warranty so I am very willing to send it to the dealer to have it looked at. Im just curious if anyone else has had this same issue??

in listening... mine does sound simular, but I cannot hear it inside the truck and happens at a low RPM when accellerating (1500 rpm)

I'm sure we have the same symptom though.

Did you remove your intake silencer? I'm assuming no exhaust.

No i have not figured it out and its so annoying!! My Ford Senior Tech can't figure it out either. Very frustrating
