Default To Those Who Change Their Own Oil on Eco-Boost

Is the mounting surface on the engine block where the oil filter is installed a machined surface or just an as cast surface??

I have a 2013 with EcoBoost and mine is an as cast, NOT machined, surface. Seems very unusual in my experience.

Many thanks...

Disregard the previous msg. Posted same on EcoBoost site and kind gent posted a pic of the mounting surface. It is NOT a machined surface. Looks like the heat exchanger that the filter mounts to is either a stamping or a die cast part. Smooth, but not machined
