Spark Plug Change, Broke Connector
Hey guys, I just replaced all the plugs on my 3.5 this weekend. When I was trying to disconnect the coils I broke 3 of the 6 snap on connectors. 2 of them I broke the red locking tab and the other I broke the piece that locks on the coil.
Everything is working find even with the broken pieces. The 2 with the broken red tabs still hold pretty good, however the third is kinda loose. It should be fine because you still have to deliberately disconnect it and I wrapped some electrical tape around it to hold it in place.
Does anyone know the part number on those connectors or if it would even be worth replacing them. Thinking it might be kind of a tough job to replace. Or if anyone has a good idea to secure them that would work too.
Thanks

I did that to one of mine on my 2011 eco. After 20k miles it never wiggled loose....

Yeah its really easy to break the locks in the connector body, you are really supposed to push on the tab before pulling them off.
I broke one of mine two, it still holds, I will keep an eye on it..you can use tape or wire ties to keep it in place, I dont think Ford sells the connector bodies seperately, although with a little hunting you can find them at an electrical connector company.
I have already changed plugs 3 times now, I only have 80000, on it...
I can tell you one thing Ecoboost are hard on plugs..I will change mine every 20000 max..once a year...
