Something might be wrong.......
I got my brand new 2013 F150 FX4 3.55 Eco Screw a month ago. I dumped my 2008 Dodge 2500HD 4x4 diesel and became a Ford gasser guy in hopes of improved fuel mileage.
Well my hopes have been shattered. My truck now has 1000 miles on it and I am LUCKY if I get 12mpg in town (my dodge was getting about the same) and lets not even discuss the 6.5mpg I get pulling my 16x8.5 enclosed trailer at 70mph. No load on the highway best mpg has been 14.5 (dodge got 15 consistently). I have read many, many posts and have not found any yet that report these low mpg readings.
What the heck is going on?
Could there really be something wrong with my eco that is causing this?

I'm getting 12 mpg towing a 7x12 and up to 20 on the highway on my 13. I'd suggest giving it another 1000 miles and if it doesn't improve then take it to the dealer.

Welcome to the world of the ecoboost owner. Hopes of power and economy is an oxymoron at best.

I saw my mileage greatly improve after 5,000 miles. Unloaded I see 20's mpg on the expressway with the max tow Eco. Towing a trailer with the Eco is gonna require more fuel. People seem to forget that a 3.5L v6 is pulling weight that was exclusively reserved for bigger V8's.
Gasseres benefit from lower fuel cost ( in my area diesel is .50 more a gallon), no def fluid and lower maintenance costs. Plus the Eco pulls like a mini diesel. I am able too tow loads that my old 5.4 V8 struggled with effortlessly.

1000 miles ain't squat. Give it some time and miles. Any vehicle will have improved mpg as more miles are accumulated.

mine has sucked for almost 12k miles. if it isn't good from the start it will not be. I get a little over 5 pulling pontoon. 7-8 pulling boat (3-4k) and 12-13 on hwy.
