SoCal Ecoboost Tunes/ Discussion & Review TEMPORARILY CLOSED- SEE MY REPLY.
This thread will be used to discuss Socal's tunes.
Explanation of tune offerings:
Shawn does true custom calibrations for those wanting something different but for descriptive purposes these are some of his offerings.
Towing tunes:
Describe what you plan on doing to help determine the tow tune right for you. More power can be obtained with the higher octane ratings.
Performance:
BandC: Traditional performance tune. Easy going with decent shifting. Good wot power.
Level 5: More part throttle performance, some more wot power. Excellent performance tune.
Level 5H: Similar to level 5, hot version. Set on go all the time, heat seeking missiles for Hemi's and Chevy's.
For best performance and safety, datalogging should be incorperated with all tunes. I have created a how to here: https://www.f150forum.com/f70/how-sc...atalog-220518/

I picture something like this however his posts are automatically replaced by the translator.
Random poster: Hey I here socal has some good tunes
Shawn: F**K ya Every Other tuner sucks my ****
Translator: Yes we like to provide the best tunes on the market
Random poster: Well I am on the fence I hear that (insert tuner) is pretty good also
Shawn: They could not tune a ****ing monkey D*** To my tunes they eat S**T and are not worth my ball Sweat..
Translator: They do have a good reputation but we will beat their service and power hands down.
Random Poster: Do you have any dyno sheets to support your claims
Shawn: F**K your Mother. Die in a fire.
Translator: Yes there are a few that have hit the dyno and have shown the biggest gains see XYZ.
Random poster: I support socal their tunes are hands down the best I have had on my truck
Shawn: Damn F***ing Strait the other tuners can Suck my B***S and they blowup motors they can't hold F**king S**t to my tunes. I will F**King stomp their babies into the Ground and Rape their wife's

I told Shawn I was towing a 9500 lb fiver and he gave me the 87 octane tow tune I asked for, but gave me the 91 octane tow tune as well and suggested I use it instead. I haven't towed with it yet, but driving the 91 tow for a day showed it to be strong, yet well mannered. I will probably use the 87 tow tune for my winter driving as I won't need premium then.

The Level 5 tunes can be had with the "MattH" shifting strategy upon request that works well with light throttle and moves some shift points up slightly higher; i.e. 6th gear at 46 instead of 42 to prevent a down shift for slight acceleration. I tried this one yesterday and today and, with cruise control, got excellent fuel mileage.

I'm running the 91l5 tune, and it is mind blowing!! Shawn always answers when I call, and answers my Emails with in minutes. Best customer service period!
Call Shawn and get a real tune, a 100% custom tune. It will blow your mind!

SoCal tune is bada**!! Im running the 87 regular tune and the throttle response is insane. I have 3.15 gears and I still lay rubber in 1st gear! Shifting is crisp but smooth. Great job Shawn! Oh wait he may not be able to see this because the poor guy got banned he's a confident guy it's sad others get away with alot and he got slammed. Enough with the past, I called Shawn today, a Sunday, and he picked up and walked
Me through some questions I had. Can't wait wait to move up in tunes and feel the power increase!

CoryMS,
Thanks for starting this thread. I had to go grill some ribs but came back to start one if no one else had.
I need to do a data log when I get back in a few weeks so Shawn has something to work with.
Can you put a link in the OP to your thread about how to obtain a data log? It will help everyone get the logs for Shawn to use, so they get the tune they desire.
Thanks again
