I changed the muffler and it really doesn't sound that great. However I do like to hear the engine. The stock exhaust I could barely hear it at all. I also drove around the block with the muffler disconnected. Sounded horrible, was more of a whooooosh than anything. Definately no rumble at all.

The only time I hear the Ecoboost is if it's pulling hard under heavy boost - then it has this sweet low rumbling sound, but it's not coming from the exhaust. It's coming from the engine compartment, and you can actually FEEL it.

I've tried rolling the windows down with one of those sound walls next to me when it's working like that - the only noise that gets reflected back is the turbo screaming pretty loud. I wonder if that's what the other drivers hear as I pass them?

Ive had no problems with my Borla exhaust and Volant Intake..and my SCT tune. My service writer knows, hell I showed him, he also knows to NOT charge me for an air filter when I come in for oil changes.
I didn't mean the warranty for the entire truck, just the exhaust. My point is, that is exactly the same for any engine.

while technically true, do you have the technical and law background to fight their lawyers AND engineers? trust me, engineers can be pretty resourceful when trying to prove a point.

Leaving the Stock Cat in place and running larger dia. pipes and a free flow exhaust (cat back) is not going to cause "overboost scenario" by any means. It might make the turbos spool up a bit quicker and sound better...but...I know what you are saying.

I really think that it you only replaced the muffler/reasonator with an aftermarket and left the piping stock...they would not have a leg to stand on
I am no engineer, but I think from what people have posted about boost levels a bit more spin wouldn't hurt. That being said a bit more spin, a bit more air, a bit more boost from a conroller might add up to too much. I go on the boat in a few months, and am very interested to see what data is present on EB mods when I get back next summer.

They dial the boost back before a shift to save the trans. Upshifting at full boost would be a good way to shorten your trans life.6R80 trans is rated for 800 lb/ft of torque. The torque converter can double the engines output.

Thats what the other drivers are hearing also. The turbos act as a muffler themselves. Thats why most turbo vehicles get quieter as they boost higher. Well I dont know if quieter is the word but the sound changes as the boost increases. This is when you get the signature whoosh sound, the turbos are canceling out some of the sound.

I had a Magnflow exhaust installed on mine FROM THE DEALER. I better NOT have any problems!

Quick Reply: So I take my Eco B to the local exhaust shop...
