5 Star has comparative dyno charts on his website for the different tunes.

ON 87 you are not going to gain much in the way of horse power but you will gain the most in terms of the tune unlocking the trucks initial potential.

They detune/restrict the truck so that the throttle is not as responsive from the factory.

Once you get the hight octane tunes then the timing can be advanced and then you will get more power. I haven't done this yet as per previous post but I will this weekend. I am also going to check 87 vs 93 tune pulling my 8000lbs trailer as well.

Number one advantage for 5.0 or 6.2 is the throttle response.

Also you have to give it probably 3 to 4 drive cycles once you reprogram it for the computer in the tranny to reprogram to your driving as this gets reset each time. THis is something I definitely notice.

If I only had to make one mod it would be a tune.

I say drivability as that is what I can confirm as I do not and probably will not Dyno. Mine get's up and goes, it definately has more ***** than it had before. I may be crazy but the higher rpms is where it really wakes up but of course that is from the butt dyno!

The trans holds gears a little longer in so far so I dont know how the mileage will be but I will update after some more miles.
